MIRIAM in residence at EMPACNora Chipaumire returns to EMPAC (Troy, NY) next month for two weeks with her MIRIAM collaborators. Omar Sosa aims to create a first draft of the score while there.
Our History
MAPP International Productions was established in 2006 by Ann Rosenthal and Cathy Zimmerman as the successor to MultiArts Projects & Productions, the much-admired company founded by Rosenthal in 1994. Rosenthal and Zimmerman share nearly three decades of experience in the contemporary performing arts field, including substantial expertise in producing complex projects at the cutting edge of organizational and artistic creation. Under their leadership, MAPP has:
- Produced 30 new multidisciplinary performing arts works with artists from New York City, from the U.S., and from around the world;
- Produced more than 60 multi-city tours, gaining national exposure for artists who were little known outside of their home communities prior to their partnership with MAPP;
- Introduced audiences in New York City and across the U.S. to artists from 22 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean;
- Co-founded and managed five programs for international exchange;
- Raised and managed over $7 Million for artists' projects.
