Emio Greco|PC

Emio Greco | PC's mode of operating leads to unexpected questions and findings; to spontaneous ways of sharing passions of creating and researching. To anchor this work, and to provide a basis for continuity, EG | PC launched Accademia Mobile in 2006. From its base at The International Choreographic Arts Centre Amsterdam (ICKamsterdam)- EG | PC's center for artistic research and development in Amsterdam- Accademia Mobile journeys around the world in the form of exchanges with educational and curating institutions that provide coaching, classes and seminars for artists, teachers and students, immersing them in specific themes around dance.

Accademia Mobile combines research, education and creation in workshops, lectures, post-performance talks, public discourse, artistic exchange, and special events. Each Accademia Mobile has been directed towards different areas of knowledge, with the aim to develop an understanding of dance as well as to break the limits of the praxis of dance education. Topics focused on so far include Movement Analysis, Dance Notation and Documentation, New Media (interaction with sound, video and software), Dance Dramaturgy, Cinematography and Dance, and Light, Set and Costume Design.

For example, in 2007, EG | PC offered a month-long intensive Accademia Mobile for third-year students from the Scuola d'Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi in Milan. An extended version of the workshop Double Skin/Double Mind was taught, and a team of teachers (dramaturg, set designer, light designer, videographer), coached the students in creating original solos inspired by a monologue from the Pasolini film, Teorema.
